A woman looks unrecognisable after dropping 82kg by ditching her fast-food addiction. Alysha McNair, 21, weighed more than 171kg at her heaviest after her eating habits spiralled out of control. With the recommended daily intake for women being 2000 calories, Ms McNair was consuming double this in just one sitting and spending $89 a day


A woman looks unrecognisable after dropping 82kg by ditching her fast-food addiction.

Alysha McNair, 21, weighed more than 171kg at her heaviest after her eating habits spiralled out of control.

With the recommended daily intake for women being 2000 calories, Ms McNair was consuming double this in just one sitting and spending $89 a day on takeaway foods.

The result of Ms McNair’s overeating left her with a huge bulging waistline and a dress size XXXXL — something that subjected her to years of bullying at school.

But Ms McNair decided to change her ways after realising she had just two options, “change or die”.

After documenting her dramatic weight-loss diary online, Ms McNair joined her local gym, ditched fast food and now looks unrecognisable.

She has embarked on training to become a qualified personal trainer after completing her transformation last year.

“I was addicted to eating takeaway, and often I would visit five different fast-food restaurants just to complete just one meal,” Ms McNair said.

“I was desperate to change as a teenager due to the horrific bullying, but I couldn’t stick to any diets.

“But after choking one day on a fizzy drink at 17 years old and struggling to catch my breath, I realised it was die or change.”

Ms McNair said she felt so ashamed by her weight she barely went outdoors.

She would spend four hours putting make-up on to try and feel better about herself but explained it didn’t work.

“I was eating my emotions, but it wasn’t until I realised my future was in the balance if I didn’t change that I decided to actually do something about it,” Ms McNair said.

“I started walking more and began pre-planning my meals rather than relying on fast food for every meal.

“My mum was really worried that I’d die young due to my weight.”

Ms McNair began to feel overwhelmed with excitement after all her diet changes, and exercise began to pay off.

“I’ve now lost 13 stone (82kg) which is half of my body weight, and I have never felt more amazing, and I’m now a dress size 14,” she said.

Ms McNair documented her weight-loss journey on her Instagram page in a bid to inspire others.

“It was daunting to upload photos of myself with my stomach out, but I felt it was necessary to see how far I’d come,” she said.

“I wanted other people who were the same size as me to realise that losing weight is always possible.

“I’d been overweight since I was a young teenager and, after being horrifically bullied for it, I knew it wasn’t always easy to see the light at the end of the tunnel.”

Ms McNair said her obesity caused her to drop out of school at 14.

“I was bullied so bad that I no longer believed I was beautiful and was never invited out to do things with kids my age,” she said.

“I feel and look completed different now and have decided to become a personal trainer to help others.

“I never buy fast food anymore and feel like I’m competitive body building now.”

I was determined to never give up my legs felt so heavy but I remember not stopping, it today on the right is me taking a leap, and jump off a cliff into the next chapter of my life giving 110% and never giving up. I’ve noticed throughout my journey, the more you change and self develop the more you have to focus on yourself and what’s best for you even if it means ending relations. I only want positive energy around me, and I’m happy everyday and I refuse to have anything get in my way of my new goals I will be number 1 in everything I do because it’s what I want for myself and I will do whatever it takes to get myself there. I was sad and depressed a couple of months ago and then I made one change and it was changed my life forever, I also found a way to help people become happier, healthier, wealthier, and live there best lives. I’ve found a way to help people lose weight without going through all the hard times I went through and I did it all completely on my own, I taught myself makeup, I taught myself meal prep, I taught myself happiness. I taught myself to fight and I have found something that helps bring motivation to people, and helps them be happy and dedicated that gives them the will and want to keep going. I’m so grateful for it, and I use it everyday and will never go a day without it now. Was the best investment in myself I’ve ever made and I can’t wait to help show others what it’s like to truly be as happy and motivated as myself and help them with there weight loss.
